Construction business Stepnell has reported its fifth straight year of profit and an increase in turnover.

The company’s turnover hit £112 million during the year to March, up from £108 million in 2024, and is projected to reach £140 million in 2026.

Pre-tax profits went from £1.039 million to £1.046 million over the same period.

Tom Wakeford, chief executive at Stepnell, which dates back to 1867 and is still family run, said: “I am really pleased with where Stepnell is.

“We are ambitious and are currently focusing on setting longer term plans for the business.

“The organisation is in a strong position heading into 2026, with 96 per cent of its planned revenue being secured by August.

“We can rightly be proud of Stepnell’s performance over the most recent reporting period.”
