People urged to sign up for festive fun run
Over The Wall Camp is urging people to sign up to a festive fun run and raise money to support children with serious health conditions.
On Sunday 30 November, Markeaton Park will be transformed into a sea of red suits and jingling bells as adults, children and even dogs dash, jog or walk their way along the 5km Derby Santa Run route.

Over The Wall Camp provides free residential and online camps for children, aged eight to 17 years, living with long-term health conditions and disabilities.
Sophie Parkins, senior regional development manager at Over The Wall Camp, said: “By joining The Derby Santa Run and choosing to fundraise for Over The Wall Camp, you’re helping children with long-term health conditions rediscover the fun and magic of childhood along with their families.
“Just £30 raised in sponsorship could help pay to transport a child to camp who otherwise wouldn’t be able to join us. £100 raised could pay for five days of activities for a child, so they can try new things, build their self-confidence, make new friends, and have fun.”
Derby Santa Run is organised by Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity.
Other causes people can choose to raise money for include Children First Derby, Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre, Rebuild East Midlands, Derbyshire Cricket Foundation and Umbrella.
