Rail Forum is gearing up for its Annual Conference 2025 this week with an expanded line-up of high-profile industry speakers.

The flagship event is being held at Doncaster Racecourse on Thursday 9 October and will bring together national and regional transport decision-makers, major rail clients, operators, suppliers, and policymakers for a day of insight, debate, and networking.

Confirmed speakers include Sir Andrew Haines, chief executive of Network Rail, Laura Shoaf CBE, chair of Shadow Great British Railways and Robert Whyte, managing director (UK & Ireland) at Alstom.

Elaine Clark OBE, chief executive at Rail Forum, said: “With such a strong line-up and an agenda packed with forward-looking sessions, this year’s conference offers unparalleled insight into the future of rail.

“Whether exploring the expo, engaging in discussions, or connecting at the drinks reception, delegates will gain fresh perspectives and make valuable industry connections.”

More than 50 businesses, including Marketing Derby – the city’s inward investment agency – will be exhibiting as part of an expanded expo on the day.

Kathryn Allen, head of investment at Marketing Derby said: “We are delighted to be supporting Rail Forum by exhibiting at this year’s Annual Conference and flying a flag for the city.

“The rail sector is a key part of Derby’s investment pitch and as the future home of GBR alongside Rail Campus Derby, which was launched in 2024, the future is very bright! We are looking forward to a day of conversations and connections.”
