Genre fiction festival set for QUAD return

QUAD is preparing to stage a major writing festival focused on the genres of horror, fantasy and sci-fi.
The day-long 11th Edge-Lit festival, aimed at writers and readers of genre fiction, is set to take place at the Market Place venue on Saturday 20 September.

It will gather together more than 25 authors from up and down the country for a loaded day of interviews, panels, workshops and more.
This year’s headline guests of honour feature Matthew Holness, Tim Lebbon and Peter F Hamilton.
The event will also be hosting an introduced screening of Possum to close the day.
Event co-ordinator Alex Davis said: “Edge-Lit has been a firm feature on Derby’s writing calendar, as well as the national genre fiction calendar, for over a decade now and we’re looking forward to another big year in 2025.
“With exciting events running simultaneously throughout the day, there’s bound to be plenty to do for any fans or aspiring authors of horror, fantasy and sci-fi.”
