Venue recognised for sustainability efforts

The Derby Conference Centre is celebrating after securing an accreditation recognising is commitment to sustainable events.

Following its latest submission, the venue has been upgraded from bronze to silver in the Green Meetings Accreditation, highlighting the team’s strong awareness of environmental issues and the practical steps taken to embed sustainability into its operations.

Key highlights from its assessment include prioritising health and wellbeing for both guests and staff, promoting Derby as a destination with a rich cultural heritage, communicating sustainability efforts clearly and consistently and supporting and encouraging sustainable travel options.

In a statement, The Derby Conference Centre said: “This achievement marks a significant milestone in our sustainability journey, and we’re excited to keep building on this foundation.

“We are especially proud of the efforts made to engage our delegates in our green initiatives, helping to deliver events that are both impactful and environmentally responsible.
