Toyota Manufacturing UK has announced a series of open days at its Burnaston factory for prospective candidates hoping to join its 2022 apprenticeship programme.

The firm, which makes the Corolla at its Derbyshire plant, is looking to take on production and maintenance apprentices next year.

Production apprentices are given a 12-month training period, during which they develop the practical skills and theory to become a member of the production team, working on the Corolla line.

Maintenance apprentices undertake a 44-month programme, learning the technical skills and theory used everyday by the manufacturer’s maintenance team.

Training will be delivered at the Toyota Academy, based at the Burnaston. Here, maintenance apprentices will learn skills such as welding, robotics and electronics.

Prospective candidates are now being invited to visit Burnaston, where they can meet some of the team and get a taste of what it would be like training and working at the site.

The open days for production apprentices will take place on Tuesday 16 November and Thursday 25 November.

The maintenance apprenticeship open days are on Wednesday 10 November and Wednesday 17 November.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 5 December.
