Nimbus Disability has partnered with a major set of national theatre awards to champion accessibility in the arts.

The social enterprise, which is run by disabled people for disabled people, has announced its partnership as a supporter of the Society of London Theatre & UK Theatre’s UK Theatre Awards 2025.

The awards are the only national awards dedicated to recognising exceptional talent and achievements in theatre outside of London.

They honour not just outstanding productions but also the people and teams who make theatres vital cultural hubs in their communities.

As a supporter, Nimbus Disability will gain high-profile visibility at this key annual event in the UK theatre calendar.

According to Nimbus, the collaboration underscores a shared commitment to celebrating the power of regional theatre and ensuring it is accessible and welcoming to all audiences across the UK.

It added that the partnership will provide meaningful connections with industry leaders and venue representatives from across the UK and offer opportunities for exclusive content at the awards.

Martin Austin MBE, managing director at Nimbus Disability, said: “We are thrilled to support the UK Theatre Awards and help champion the richness, diversity, and innovation of UK theatre.

“This partnership reflects our dedication to breaking down barriers and improving accessibility for disabled patrons, allowing more people to experience the magic of live theatre.”

Nimbus Disability is the creator of the Access Card, a nationally recognised and award-winning scheme that translates a person’s disability or impairment into symbols that discreetly inform venues about their access requirements.

The Access Card is a key tool for improving accessible ticketing and ensuring disabled people have equal access to online booking solutions.

The UK Theatre Awards 2025 will be held in London on 12 October.
