Archway Learning Trust, Fortitude Nicsa Global, Timms Solicitors, Nelsons and Pennine Healthcare are among the latest Marketing Derby Bondholders to announce new appointments in recent weeks.

Multi-academy trust Archway Learning Trust has appointed Ben Wright as its biodiversity officer.

He has been brought on board to create tailored sustainability initiatives for each school, helping them achieve their environmental goals.

Operating schools in Derby, Derbyshire and Nottingham, Derby, the trust is focused on integrating nature into education and ensuring students engage with the environment throughout their schooling years.

Ben’s upcoming project includes creating a community garden at Alvaston Moor Academy, which will provide an alternative learning environment for students, helping them gain practical skills while creating a space for the local community to gather for seasonal events.

Sian Hampton, chief executive at Archway Learning Trust, said: “We have an over-arching goal at the trust to engage our pupils at all ages and stages of their education with nature, as well as working towards ways we can reduce the carbon footprint of our sites across Nottingham, Derby and Derbyshire.”

IT firm Fortitude Nicsa Global has announced the appointment of Ian Mills as its new operations director.

With an impressive career spanning over 25 years in the technology and service delivery sectors, Ian brings deep operational insight, a collaborative spirit and a proven track record of leadership to his new role.

Timms Solicitors has promoted family lawyer Melissa Knight to associate after five years working with the law firm, which has offices in Derby, Burton, Ashby and Swadlincote.

The role will see Melissa take on greater responsibility in business management, financial oversight and the training and development of key staff.

Her promotion is an unprecedented direct appointment and comes without her even needing to complete the firm’s standard in-house programme.

Law firm Nelsons has appointed experienced employment law expert Rachel Hatton as a partner within its Derby office.

With more than two decades of specialist employment and HR experience, Rachel has advised local and national businesses on all aspects of employment law, providing pragmatic and commercial advice.

Laura Kearsley, head of the employment team at Nelsons, said: “We are proud to welcome Rachel to Nelsons; her extensive experience and deep understanding of the East Midlands market will be invaluable as we continue to grow our employment team and strengthen our presence across the region.

Finally, medical manufacturer Pennine Healthcare has welcomed Brett Hughes as its new business development manager for commercial partnerships.

Brett brings over 30 years of industry experience. In his new position at Pennine, he will focus on expanding the firm’s commercial partnerships, with the onboarding of medical device customers looking for a new manufacturing and packaging provider.
