Vailliant Live is to stage a free event to celebrate its first anniversary since opening in Derby city centre.

On Saturday 6 June, the Colyear Street live events and entertainment venue will stage ‘We Are One’ to mark a successful first year of bringing entertainment, community and culture together in the heart of the city.

Held in collaboration with BBC Introducing East Midlands, it will be a full-day celebration showcasing the very best in emerging grassroots and local talent alongside a vibrant programme of family-friendly activities and discounted food and drink offerings.

The day will also help raise funds for event charity partner Bridge the Gap, which supports children and families with vital mental health resources, workshops and one-to-one support.

Marcus Sheehan, general manager at Vaillant Live, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating our first year.

“This event is not only about looking back on what we’ve achieved this past year; it’s also about putting a spotlight on emerging artists in the East Midlands and bringing the Derby community together for a day of fun and live entertainment.

“We can’t wait to welcome the local community to come and celebrate Vaillant Live’s one-year anniversary with us.”

Since opening its doors in May 2025, Vaillant Live has quickly established itself as a cornerstone of Derby’s live entertainment scene, bringing in household names such as John Bishop, Jess Glynne, Simple Minds, Rag N’ Bone Man and many more.

The 3,500-capacity venue, owned by Derby City Council and operated by Legends Global, attracted over 80,000 people in its first year.

The £45.8 million facility was constructed as part of the second phase of the wider £200 million Becketwell regeneration scheme, which is being delivered by St James Securities.

Vaillant Live said celebrating its first anniversary with the people of Derby reflected the venue’s ongoing commitment to bring the best in live entertainment to the city and engage the wider community.

The one-year anniversary celebration will feature live performances from local acts and bands in collaboration with BBC Introducing East Midlands, including emerging artists Zayla Ren, Taylor Liam Jackson and Lucy Crisp.

There will also be free family-friendly activities and stalls running throughout the day for people of all ages.

On the day, Bridge the Gap will be present raising funds and awareness of its work.

Ahead of the celebration event, venue sponsor Vaillant has announced it is donating £1,000 to the charity to support its life-changing work.

Doors open for We Are One at 11am, with activities and performances scheduled throughout the day.

Tickets to the event are free but must be booked in advance online. For more information and to book tickets click here Vaillant Live, Derby’s home of live entertainment & events .
