The organiser of a popular scarecrow trail is encouraging fellow Marketing Derby Bondholders to support the event, which will raise money for Derby Kids’ Camp.

The Duffield and Hazelwood Scarecrow Trail is set to take place from Wednesday 17 to Sunday 21 September.

Featuring over 80 imaginative scarecrows, this year’s theme, inspired by Jules Verne’s classic tale Around the World in Eighty Days, promises a colourful journey across continents.

Profits from this year’s event will go to Derby Kids’ Camp, which provides free holidays for children who are disadvantaged or in need.

Jonathan Leach, director at event organiser Indigo Drum Communications, said: “From the very first trail in 2016, the response from the people and businesses of Duffield has been incredible.

“Most importantly, this year we will be helping to raise vital funds for Derby Kids’ Camp, which makes a huge difference to children’s lives.”

Maps for the trail will be available from Town Street, in Duffield. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a number of refreshment stops along the route.
