East Midlands Railway has teamed up with a sandwich supplier to help raise money for a children’s charity.
The partnership between the rail operator and Simply Lunch will see 25p from every sale of the Vegan Festive Feast sandwich donated to Meals and More – a charity which supports children who have limited access to food provision and activity during school holidays.
EMR said that the collaboration, known as the Spirit of Christmas campaign, which is also being supported by Quorn, will have a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children.
Dave Meredith, customer services director at East Midlands Railway, said: “We are delighted to play our part in this worthwhile campaign. I’m sure the sandwich will prove to be a popular festive choice for our customers – especially since choosing it will support such a great charity.”
Peter McGrath, operations director at Meals and More, said: “Thank you all involved in this campaign.
“The funds raised from the sales of each sandwich will make such a difference to so many children and young people throughout the coming year during the school holidays.”
