A trio of retailers have announced ‘significant’ investments in their stores within the Derbion shopping centre.

The Body Shop and Superdrug are set to invest in their existing units, with each seeking to expand their current offer at Derbion.

Meanwhile, Toy Planet will move into a new, larger space within the centre this spring, which will see it add more than 1,200 sq ft to its footprint.

The Body Shop is planning to reveal its new concept store at Derbion this month, following a three-week re-fit.

Once reopened, the store will offer a sustainable refilling station, where shoppers can stock up on beauty essentials, such as shampoo and conditioner, in reusable aluminium bottles.

The store fixtures will be made from recycled wood and plastics, plus worktops made from 100% recycled materials.

Superdrug has started work to refresh the front of its existing store, updating the lighting and fixtures throughout.

Michael Boundy, senior asset manager at Derbion, said: “We’re proud that so many of our retailers are showing such confidence in the centre, as well as the city, by investing in their stores.

“Derbion continues to go from strength to strength, with the arrival of several new retailers such as Mango, Tommy Hilfiger, FLANNELS and the recent announcement that Jack Wills is set to join the scheme.

“This year will also see Frasers opening its doors, with further significant projects in the pipeline.”
