The Pepperpot restaurant is celebrating after securing two prestigious AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence – putting it among an elite group of eating establishments.

The business, operated by The Fulton Partnership, has achieved the landmark is just under two years since opening its doors.

The AA Rosette scheme is one of the UK’s most respected benchmarks of restaurant quality, with only a select number of establishments receiving this accolade each year.

Last year, the venue, which is located on Wavensmere Homes’ Nightingale Quarter development, in London Road, achieved its first AA Rosette.

Now it has a second rosette – adding to an already long list of accolades, including the Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards Restaurant of the Year.

Head chef Dan Fincher said: “We are incredibly proud to have achieved Two AA Rosettes in under two years.

“From day one, our goal was to create something truly special for Derby, a restaurant that champions outstanding ingredients, refined technique, and warm hospitality.

“This recognition reflects the passion, discipline, and creativity of our entire team. We are immensely grateful to our guests, our suppliers, and the local community for their continued support.”

After opening in 2024, the venue quickly gained a reputation for its contemporary cuisine, elegant atmosphere and unwavering commitment to quality.

Offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, The Pepperpot expanded on its early success by introducing a new sun terrace for alfresco dining.

It has also launched The Nightingale, a stylish first-floor space designed to accommodate private dining and corporate meetings in a stylish, dedicated setting.

The two AA Rosettes recognise The Pepperpot’s commitment to outstanding food quality, creative cuisine and high standards of service.

They also acknowledge its inventive menus, dedication to locally sourced ingredients and the exceptional skills of its kitchen team.

It builds on an extraordinary period of recognition and growth for the restaurant.

In 2024, The Pepperpot received the Innovation Award at the Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards, highlighting its fresh approach to contemporary dining.

The following year, it was named Restaurant of the Year at the 2025 Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards, cementing its status as one of the region’s leading culinary destinations.

Further recognition has come through head chef Dan Fincher’s acceptance into the prestigious Master Chefs of Great Britain, an honour reserved for chefs demonstrating exceptional culinary skill and influence within the industry.

The restaurant’s growing reputation has also led to national media attention, including being featured in The Observer, placing The Pepperpot firmly on the wider UK dining map.
