Residents’ board meets to discuss £20m funding
A residents’ board headed by Derbyshire County Cricket Club chief executive Ryan Duckett has met for the first time to discuss how £20 million of government funding should be spent.
The new Chaddesden West Pride in Place Board met last week to begin work on a long-term plan for the area.
Pride in Place is designed to give communities more power over local investment, so residents can help turn their priorities into real improvements where they live.

The funding will run from April 2026 to March 2036 and will support long-term improvements in Chaddesden West.
The board’s role is to listen to residents, identify what people want to see improved and develop a plan shaped by the community.
Ryan said: “I’m proud to chair the Chaddesden West Pride in Place Board and to work with local people who care deeply about the area.
“Our first meeting was an important start. This funding gives Chaddesden West a real opportunity to make improvements over the long term, guided by the people who know the area best.
“The first job is to listen. We want residents to feel that this is their chance to help shape what happens in Chaddesden West and to see their ideas become part of a clear plan for the future.”
