Pub company puts ‘Hart’ and soul into latest acquisition
Bespoke Inns, which owns pubs including The Boot at Repton and The Binary, has launched the latest addition to its portfolio.
The firm, which has pubs in Derby and South Derbyshire, has branched out into Staffordshire, breathing new life into the venue formerly known as The White Hart Hotel, in Uttoxeter, near the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border.

Regarded as one of the town’s most iconic and historic buildings, the former coaching inn joined the Bespoke Inns family on 1 September.
After being closed for renovation, refurbishment and rebranding, ‘The Hart’ recently reopened with a series of celebration open evenings showcasing its new food and drink offering, layout, luxury bedrooms and a stylish new wood panelled function room – ideal for meetings and/or social events.
The White Hart is steeped in history. A Grade II listed building dating from 1756, it served travellers and stagecoaches in what would have been an important route through Staffordshire.
It was also once the headquarters for Bonnie Prince Charlie and his supporter Sir William Bagot, of whom it is written was arrested there after enjoying an “excellent dinner”.
Bespoke Inns has a track record of revitalising community pubs and boutique venues, including The Dragon (Willington), The Boot at Repton, Harpurs (Melbourne) and The Binary (Mickleover).

With The Hart, the firm has once again applied its award-winning blend of heritage restoration, exceptional hospitality and modern comfort.
Emily Nash, director of marketing at Bespoke Inns, said: “The Hart is perfect for us.
“The heritage, the Bonnie Prince Charlie connection, the charm of a centuries-old coaching inn and its place at the heart of the community make it an ideal addition to our family.
“Our aim, is to honour the building’s rich character while delivering the kind of comfort, hospitality and quality that has defined Bespoke Inns across the Midlands.”
