A parcel delivery giant has become the latest business to take logistics space at a major business park in Derby created by Indurent.

DPD has signed a five-year lease for an 82,000 sq ft unit – known as D82 – at Indurent Park Derby.

It means there is just one unit – called D43 – available at the site, which offers a total of 800,000 sq ft across 11 units.

DPD joins existing occupiers, which include engineering giant Rolls-Royce and heating technology manufacturer Vaillant UK.

George Goldsmith, senior asset manager at Indurent, which is a leading developer, owner and operator of industrial and logistics space across the UK, said: “Indurent Park Derby is home to an international mix of occupiers, from engineering and medtech firms to fashion and beauty brands, and we’re pleased to welcome DPD to the park.”

Kathryn Allen, chief operating officer at Marketing Derby, said: “Indurent Park Derby is a true Derby success story.

“The speed at which the site has evolved is impressive and it has attracted significant interest from businesses looking to take advantage of Derby’s central location and strong talent supply.

“Today, it is a thriving hub for a number of major global companies who have brought new jobs and capital investment to Derby, along with supply chain and skills opportunities.”

DPD’s building provides 78,585 sq ft of warehouse space alongside 4,350 sq ft of office facilities.

The unit has been designed to high sustainability standards, with a BREEAM Excellent rating, EPC A+ and provision for solar PV, alongside a dedicated warehouse lighting scheme.

Indurent said the DPD deal “reflects continued occupier demand for well-located, high-quality, energy-efficient space” in the Midlands, and the firm’s “ability to support its customers as their requirements evolve”.

Indurent Park Derby is situated on a 50-acre site adjacent to Pride Park and Wyvern Retail Park, formerly known as Chaddesden Sidings.

Work on the scheme took place between 2021 and 2024 – delivered over a three-phase development programme, with more than £100 million invested in total.

Originally envisaged as a six-to- seven-year programme, the development process was expedited by Indurent following its acquisition by Blackstone to accelerate the delivery of new employment space and address the lack of new industrial and logistics units in the region, without compromising on build quality.

At last month’s Derby Property Summit, Rob Richardson, Indurent’s development director, took part in a panel discussion on the key role major industrial schemes play in driving economic growth in Derby.
