New podcast spreads the joy of books

A programme run by Derby Book Festival which aims to bring people together through reading has launched a new podcast series.

Its Shared Reading community programme has debuted a new podcast and is inviting submissions from local writers and prospective guests.

The Shared Reading Podcast celebrates the joy of reading and the conversations it sparks. Hosted by volunteers it features local voices and authors from across the East Midlands.

Katie Orman, Shared Reading project co-ordinator, said: “In our Shared Reading groups we see how reading short pieces together opens up honest, generous conversations.

“The podcast brings that atmosphere to a wider audience, inviting listeners to pause, reflect, and feel part of something shared.”
