New finance director for law firm

Flint Bishop has announced the appointment of a new finance director to help sustain its strategic growth plans during 2023 and beyond.

Chartered accountant Nelson Gonzalez joins the law firm with more than 20 years’ experience in accounts and finance.

In addition to well-known retailers, including Specsavers and Jessops, his previous positions also include leading the UK finance team of a global multi-billion-dollar service sector business.

In his new role, Nelson will be heavily involved in Flint Bishop’s financial and risk management operations, to include evolving the financial strategy, working alongside chief executive Qamer Ghafoor and chief financial officer Wai Yan Fung.

Mr Ghafoor said: “Nelson is an established finance leader. His experience in evaluating, strategising, and delivering commercial opportunities will be a major asset to Flint Bishop.

“He is a significant hire for the firm and will play a notable part in our commitment to our ambitious growth strategy over the coming months and years.”
