Full-service marketing agency Purpose Media has announced the retirement and share buyout of one of its three long-standing directors.

The Derbyshire firm, which was founded in 2008, is now owned by Matt Wheatcroft and Tim Lenton, after they bought out Rob Marshall for an undisclosed sum.

Purpose Media started out as an e-commerce and digital marketing agency in the centre of Mansfield, in Nottinghamshire.

Following several years of growth, the business acquired video agency A-Star Media, and the assets of Derby-based design agency Revolver Revolver, to become the full-service marketing agency it is today, employing 30 full-time staff.

Commenting on his retirement and exit from the business, Rob said: “I have really enjoyed working with the team at Purpose Media over the years and I am proud of the agency’s achievements during my time as a director.

“Collectively, we have grown and developed Purpose Media in to an award-winning, forward-thinking marketing agency that is well regarded in the region.

“I’d like to thank the employees, both past and present, for all of their support.”

Managing director Matt said: “On behalf of Tim and our whole team, I would like to thank Rob for his contribution and commitment to the agency over the years, and we wish him all the best in his retirement.

“We are proud of the journey Purpose Media has made over the past 13 years, growing from a small web agency to the 30-strong team it is today. We are excited to see what the next chapter holds.”
