Law firm helps unlock deal

Law firm Flint Bishop has advised on a deal which has seen a security products firm take over a locking systems specialist.

Brisant Secure, which is backed by private equity firm the British Growth Fund, has acquired the business and intellectual property of Deseo Locking Systems for an undisclosed sum.

Deseo is an innovative trailblazer with critical security patents to its name.

Nick Dutton, chief executive at Brisant, said: “Following the growth of our award winning, smart security range, this is a major step on the road to future proofing home security.

“And it’s a significant development in the evolution of Brisant as a hardware house.”

Martyn Brierley, head of corporate and finance at Flint Bishop, who led on the legal advice for Brisant Secure, supported by Mark Wilcock, said: “We’re delighted to have supported Brisant on this important strategic acquisition and look forward to seeing the combined businesses grow stronger together.”
