Indurent has welcomed a decision by book retailer Waterstones to invest in a new distribution centre.

The firm has agreed a deal for a 300,000 sq ft logistics facility at Indurent Park Burton.

Waterstones has been based in Burton for almost two decades and will relocate to the new facility, just a short distance from its existing distribution centre.

The move is expected to enable the business to increase capacity, strengthen its supply chain and support continued expansion across its bookshops, online business and product ranges.

The new building incorporates PV panels covering approximately 10 per cent of roof cover with scope to increase this to 100 per cent, alongside an EPC rating of A (21) and a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification.

George Goldsmith, senior asset manager at Indurent, which is also behind Indurent Park Derby, said: “Waterstones’ decision to invest in a new distribution centre at Indurent Park Burton reflects the continued demand from established occupiers for high-quality, strategically located logistics space.

“Businesses are increasingly looking for facilities that can support long-term growth while offering the connectivity and flexibility needed to future-proof their operations.”
