Derby City Council and the Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District have confirmed that the city’s beloved ice rink will be returning this Christmas as part of Festive Derby 2026.

Located in the Market Place, the covered Cathedral Quarter Ice Rink is set to be the star attraction of this year’s seasonal celebrations.

Skaters can hit the ice from Friday 28 November all the way through to New Year’s Eve – with tickets now on sale.

Making a popular return alongside the rink will be the Nordic Bar, brought to life in partnership with Sami Tipi and Mambo Bars.

Councillor Gurkiran Kaur, the city council’s cabinet member for city centre, culture and tourism, said: “The Cathedral Quarter Ice Rink is a highlight of the festive calendar in Derby, and we’re thrilled to bring it back alongside the brilliant Nordic Bar.

“Festive Derby continues to grow year after year, and 2026 is shaping up to be our best yet.

“We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors into the city centre to make some magical memories.”
