Housebuilder Wavensmere Homes is celebrating after scooping a top industry award.

At the recent 2025 Insider Midlands Residential Awards the firm was crowned Urban and City Living Developer of the Year.

It received the award in recognition of its £175 million Nightingale Quarter development and £75 million Friar Gate Goods Yard redevelopment in Derby city centre, as well as urban projects in the West Midlands.

Wavensmere completed 476 houses and apartments during 2024, achieving a turnover of £105 million for its financial year, ending 31 December.

Development land in the process of being secured is set to deliver 1,500 new homes.

James Dickens, managing director of Wavensmere Homes, said: “We are thrilled to be crowned the 2025 Urban and City Living Developer of the Year by Insider Media’s judging panel.

“The performance of this business across the Midlands region and further afield is the culmination of a huge effort by a relatively small team.

“Through seeking out large complex brownfield sites, we are consistently delivering hundreds of quality, energy-efficient new homes per year.”
