Hospitality firm to breathe new life into historic castle
Bespoke Inns – the firm behind venues including The Boot at Repton and The Binary – has announced a new partnership, which will result in a historic castle re-opening to the public in early summer.
The hospitality company has teamed up with The Duchy of Lancaster to breathe fresh life into Tutbury Castle, which sits on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border.
The revitalised Tutbury Castle will feature a new restaurant, café and a large events and wedding space within the castle grounds, creating an exciting new destination for both local residents and visitors.

Bespoke Inns is the company behind popular venues in Willington, Repton, Melbourne, Mickleover, and its newly opened venue in Uttoxeter.
Emily Nash, director at Bespoke Inns, said: “We are incredibly excited to begin this new chapter at Tutbury Castle.
“It is rich in history and deeply valued by the community, so we feel very privileged to play a part in shaping its future.
“Our aim is to create a welcoming destination where great food, memorable events and the unique character of the castle come together.”
Tutbury Castle has long been an integral part of village life in Tutbury.
In recent years the Duchy has invested significantly in the conservation and protection of the scheduled monument.
Naomi Browne, senior estates surveyor at the Duchy of Lancaster, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Bespoke Inns to Tutbury Castle and look forward to working with them as they bring new life and energy to this much-loved historic site.
“The Duchy has made significant investments to protect and preserve the castle’s fabric in recent years, and this new partnership represents an exciting next step.
“Bespoke Inns’ commitment to quality, community and creativity makes them an ideal custodian for the castle’s future.”
Emily added: “We look forward to working with the Duchy and developing new, exciting plans for Tutbury Castle over the months ahead.”
