Holleron donates to war memorial fund

Holleron Wealth Management has donated towards a Second World War Memorial to be installed next to its Derbyshire headquarters.

The memorial, to be created next to the firm’s Grove Farm base, at Stanton-by-Dale, is in memory of the crew of Stirling Bomber LJ630, which crashed in a nearby field on the night of 31 August 1944, killing all the crew on board.

The bomber just missed the farmhouse but set fire to a cornfield.

The crash is recorded on the war memorial in Stanton-by-Dale churchyard but there is currently nothing to mark the site where the aircraft came down.

A team of fundraisers have been raising money to produce the memorial – and now, Holleron, which is a senior partner practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, has given them the remaining cash needed to make it.

It is hoped the memorial will be in place by the anniversary of the crash on 31 August this year.
