A golf day organised by Armsons Barlow has raised thousands for a charity, which helps people across the city experiencing food poverty.

The event, held at Kedleston Park Golf Club, raised more than £2,000 for Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance, which looks to provide long-term solutions to deprivation and poverty.

It is the first time that the Derby-based project managers, construction cost consultants and building surveyors had held the event, which was won by a team featuring Alex Ashton, from Ivygrove and Jamie Taylor and Ben Durkin, both of AJS Structural Design.

Other prizes were awarded for the longest drive, nearest the pin and the pink ball competition.

Jonathan Heath, director of Armsons Barlow, said: “It was great to welcome so many clients and fellow professionals to our inaugural charity golf day.

“We had a lot of fun and more importantly, raised a significant amount of money for our chosen charity.”
