The founder and chief executive of Calm in a Box is organising a festival, which aims to improve people’s mental wellness and raise vital funds for a mental health charity at the same time.

CALMfest will be a week-long festival of events, activities and challenges, taking place from 15 to 19 May, to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week.

Funds raised from CALMfest, which is being organised by Sarah Markham, will go towards Mind, of which Sarah is a member of the board of trustees.

Admission to the festival will be £1, with free access to the events and activities programme, with the option to make a voluntary donation to Mind if people attend a session.

Sarah said: “We’ll be hosting three sessions per day on mental health related topics such as sleep, back pain, menopause, nutrition, financial wellbeing, reconnecting to nature – all through the lens of developing better balance by improving mental health and mental fitness.

“There will also be daily CALM mini masterclasses as well as 1% CALMer challenges with the chance to connect as a community during the final Friday session.”

All events can be booked via the CALM hub at https://calminabox.co.uk/calm-hub and accessed via Zoom.

The sign-up deadline is 31 March for participating organisations. To sign up e-mail hello@calminabox.co.uk.
