Exhibition celebrates artistic exchange across three nations

There is still time to catch an exhibition organised by Artcore which celebrates the contemporary arts organisation’s international residency programmes.

Residency Reminiscence will run at Artcore Gallery, in Albert Street, until 25 June.

It brings together the work of 34 artists who have participated in residency programmes ever since they began in 2019.

Spanning practices from the UK, India, and Germany, Residency Reminiscence highlights the enduring creative impact of these residencies and the artistic journeys that have evolved from them.

It brings together a vibrant mix of emerging and established voices, exploring how shared spaces, cross-cultural dialogue, and community-driven practice can shape powerful creative outcomes.

Founded in Derby 30 years ago, Artcore is a contemporary visual arts organisation committed to supporting both local and international artists.

Its work spans exhibitions, residencies, public art commissions, and educational initiatives, with a focus on inclusivity, experimentation, and community participation.

Over the past three decades, Artcore has established itself as a platform for diverse artistic voices, providing space for exploration and innovation across cultures and disciplines.

In a joint statement, chief executive Ruchita Shaikh and artistic executive director said: “Residency Reminiscence is a tribute to the journeys that began here but continued far beyond.

“It is our way of acknowledging the friendships, memories and creative sparks that continue to shape us.”

In addition to celebrating past collaborations, the exhibition marks the beginning of a new chapter.

As part of this evolving programme, Artcore will soon launch a series of new residencies, exhibitions and public initiatives designed to strengthen creative networks across continents and communities.
