East Midlands Railway has launched a new programme designed to promote rail safety education among primary and secondary school students.

The Rail Safety Pathway, which is being run in partnership with Network Rail, is a three-tiered toolkit aimed at equipping schools with the resources they need to effectively promote rail safety in their communities.

Through EMR’s Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers, participating schools will have access to a range of educational materials and activities.

Lucy Gallacher, emergency planning manager at East Midlands Railway, said: “By providing schools with the tools and resources they need, we aim to foster a culture of safety and responsibility around rail travel among students.

“Interested schools are invited to contact us today to learn more about how to participate.”
