The Derby Property Summit – the region’s largest real estate and regeneration insight seminar – is set to take place next month in an exciting new location.

This year, the event, which focuses on property and investment plans and opportunities in Derby, will take place on Wednesday 2 July at Vaillant Live – the city centre’s new flagship venue for shows, events and conferences.

Backed by event partner AtkinsRéalis and brand sponsor Compendium Living, the theme of this year’s summit – chaired once again by experienced business journalist Declan Curry – will be the ‘Alchemy of Cities’, with a line-up of keynote speakers and expert panel.

To date, over 250 people from across the Midlands have registered to attend.

John Forkin, managing director at Marketing Derby, said: “We are expecting to attract a broad regional delegation to this year’s Derby Property Summit, all keen to experience this new premier conferencing facility, while seeing first-hand the wider regeneration taking place in Becketwell.

“The Derby Property Summit comes on the back of a very fruitful UKREiiF for Team Derby where Derby’s pitch stood out amongst those competing for investment – and we are looking forward to welcoming the people we met in Leeds to witness for themselves the transformation of our city – and to join us on that journey.”

Alex Wakefield, director of project and programme services at AtkinsRéalis, said: ”AtkinsRéalis is incredibly proud to be supporting Marketing Derby with the 2025 Derby Property Summit.

“Our local team are looking forward to attending the new Vaillant Live arena to hear about the recently completed developments that are helping to reinvigorate our fantastic city.

“We are also pleased that our national regeneration lead, Emma Davies will be joining the expert panel to discuss the exciting plans and future regeneration opportunities in the city.”

This year’s Derby Property Summit will feature a mix of respected keynote speakers, presentations, films and a panel discussion.

Among the confirmed speakers so far is Andrew Carter, chief executive of urban policy research unit Centre for Cities. Details of further speakers will be announced soon.

They will all contribute their thoughts and ideas to the central theme of this year’s summit – the ‘Alchemy of Cities’.

The vital role that cities play in promoting economic growth has never been more important.

And yet, cities are complex systems where people, business and place interact in a built environment of the past, present and future.

Post-Covid, the regeneration of cities has become a key ingredient of growth, and the Derby Property Summit will explore challenges across the UK, with a focus on Derby’s emerging regeneration story.

A key element of the city’s regeneration story is the very building this year’s Derby Property Summit will be held in – Vaillant Live.

The £45.8 million venue, in Colyear Street, which is part of the Becketwell regeneration scheme, opened its doors this spring.

Delegates at this year’s summit will get the opportunity to experience the premier hospitality space, including the Live Lounge, as well as the state-of-the-art auditorium, which later in June will play host to big names including Simple Minds, Human League, Jess Glynne and UB40.
