Council recognised for health and wellbeing
Derby City Council has been recognised for its partnership approach to improving the health and wellbeing of residents.
It was recently named Local Authority of the Year at the Everyone Active Champion Awards, which were held in Sheffield.

Everyone Active runs more than 230 leisure and cultural centres across the country, including Moorways Sports Village, in partnership with the city council.
The council was recognised for its outstanding commitment to its partnership with Everyone Active and for by inspiring residents to get active and stay active.
Councillor Ndukwe Onuoha, the city council’s cabinet member for Streetpride, public safety and leisure, said: “We are delighted that Derby City Council has been recognised as Local Authority of the Year at Everyone Active’s Champions Awards.
“This award reflects our strong partnership we have with Everyone Active and our shared commitment to supporting sport, improving wellbeing and creating opportunities for residents to thrive.
“We’re proud to see the positive impact these programmes are having across Derby’s communities.”
