College to mark 20 years of Joseph Wright Centre
Derby College Group is marking 20 years of one of its campuses, which over the years has provided generations of students with the skills, confidence and ambition to succeed.
Since opening in 2005, the Joseph Wright Centre has become the beating heart of A-Level and creative learning in the city.

Named after Joseph Wright of Derby, the internationally acclaimed painter and innovator, the centre was purpose-built to reflect his spirit of creativity, discovery and excellence.
Over two decades, it has become synonymous with talent, imagination and opportunity.
From its state-of-the-art science labs and digital suites to its art, design, dance and music studios, the Joseph Wright Centre has been at the forefront of inspiring young people to explore their passions and realise their potential.
Thousands of students have since gone on to higher education, apprenticeships, and flourishing careers in science, technology and the creative industries.
Matt Ridgill, assistant principal at the Joseph Wright Centre, said: “The Joseph Wright Centre has been more than a building; it has been a launchpad for futures.
“For 20 years, it has nurtured creativity, ambition and innovation, staying true to its namesake’s legacy.
“We are incredibly proud of the generations of students who have walked through these doors and gone on to make a difference in the world.”
The college said that its 20th anniversary celebrations will look back at the centre’s achievements while looking forward to its role in shaping the next generation of innovators, thinkers and creators.
