Collaboration brings touch of class to Derby City Lab

Visitors to the Derby City Lab can now get a glimpse into the city’s exciting future at the touch of a screen, thanks to a collaboration with Hardy Signs.
The current edition of the Derby City Lab, which launched in the newly revamped Derby Market Hall back in May, features a brand-new interactive touch screen kiosk.
The aim of the 50-inch touch screen, designed, supplied and installed by Hardy Signs, is to enhance the visitor experience.
The new interactive kiosk features a cloud-based, dynamic map of Derby and allows users to access further information on pipeline projects visible in the 3D Derby City Model. It provides details on city developments, including images, drone footage, and CGI content in an intuitive and engaging way.

Hardy Signs delivered the project from concept to completion using its in-house team.
Following a detailed consultation, the freestanding digital unit was installed on-site and fully tested to ensure it delivered a smooth and reliable user experience.
To ensure the Derby City Lab could make the most of its new technology, the team was invited to Hardy Signs’ Burton headquarters to take part in a bespoke training session.
This hands-on experience was designed to give them the confidence to power, manage, and update the kiosk content independently, whenever they need to.
Adam Rodgers, inward investment executive at Marketing Derby and Derby City Lab lead, said: “The interactive touchscreen kiosk has already made a strong impression within the Derby City Lab, drawing attention from professionals, students, and entrepreneurs alike, and helping to create a more connected and informative experience for all.
“Since going live, the interactive display has received positive feedback for its sleek design, ease of use, and ability to spark greater engagement with the city’s regeneration.”
In a statement, Hardy Signs said: “Hardy Signs, a proud long-term member of Marketing Derby, is thrilled to further strengthen its relationship with the city’s innovation network through this recent collaboration with Derby City Lab.
“For Hardy Signs, the project not only showcases the power of bespoke digital signage but also represents a shared commitment to supporting Derby’s growth and future-focused vision.
“The team looks forward to future collaborations with Marketing Derby and its partners, working together to help bring Derby’s innovation story to life.”
