Car dealership group Ron Brooks is set to open a new site in Derby selling and servicing Suzuki cars.

The group, which has its Toyota dealership at Ilkeston, is aiming to officially open its new Suzuki site at Pentagon Island on 1 May.

It will be Ron Brooks’ second Suzuki dealership in the East Midlands.

The expansion is part of its overall growth ambitions, which could soon exceed £100 million turnover.

The firm said it was making a “significant investment” in the new Derby site, which had been empty for some time, “signalling a further pledge to the Derby and East Midlands area”.

It will initially create 15 new jobs – but the firm believes as the site grows and business builds, this could rise to around 50 jobs.

The new site coincides with Ron Brooks strengthening its ties in the local community.

The firm is a long-standing partner with Derby County – and has now become the preferred vehicle partner for Derbyshire County Cricket Club.

The company has supplied two new Suzuki S-Cross vehicles for the club’s international players this season.

Kevin Slack, chairman and managing director at Ron Brooks, said: “We’re proud to have the opportunity to be the preferred vehicle partner for Derbyshire County Cricket Club through our Suzuki division of our group.

“We’re delighted to also announce the opening of our new site on Pentagon Island, just a ball throw from the County Ground.

“This new site expands our groups portfolio and to be able to have presence in Derby excites us all and will ensure we work more closer with the club moving forwards and into the future.”

Group manager Tom Slack said: Ron Brooks is proud to have been appointed the Suzuki business in the significant market territory of Derby.

“Our relationship with Suzuki is a true partnership and one we are committed together to making even stronger.”
