The Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire is urging fellow Bondholders to spread the word about a new campaign urging people not to drink and drive.

Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts has been working in partnership with Global Brands, other local drinks producers, Derbyshire Constabulary, and other local partners to deliver the “Don’t Risk the Drive” campaign – aimed at reducing drink driving incidents and encouraging people to plan their journey home before heading out.

This campaign is particularly focused on men aged 26 to 35, who were identified in 2024 breath test data as the most likely group to test positive for alcohol.

The campaign urges people, including those heading out to celebrate the festive season, to plan ahead if they intend to drink alcohol.

This includes sorting out their journey home early on – whether it’s public transport, a taxi, a lift, or staying over.

The campaign is also working with Global Brands and other Derbyshire drinks companies to promote 0% alcohol options and encourage responsible choices.

Don’t Risk the Drive is currently running across social media, Derbyshire Alert, and in licensed venues, using posters, beer mats and digital screens.

Businesses can access customisable campaign assets via the OPCC website, including posters with your logo and downloadable social media graphics.

Nicolle said: “Our new campaign, Don’t Risk the Drive, is more than a warning – it’s a commitment to saving lives.

“This initiative is an opportunity to raise awareness, promote safer alternatives and influence lasting change in our communities.”
