Staff at Leonardo Hotel Derby have been decompressing thanks to a collaboration with fellow Marketing Derby Bondholder Hands on at Work.

Hands on at Work, which provide professional onsite massage and wellbeing services to organisations across the UK, recently visited the King Street hotel to help deliver a wellbeing day for staff.

The collaboration came about after Tina Portman, director at Hands on at Work, met Colm Daly, the manager of Leonardo Hotel Derby, at a Marketing Derby Bondholder event.

Tina herself visited the hotel to provide 15-minute chair massages for staff, giving them a chance to take time out, relax and ease some of the tension that can build up during the working day.

The massages were accompanied by calming music – with staff given face masks and wellbeing treats.

Tina said: “It was great for us to collaborate with another Bondholder and come together to do something positive for employee wellbeing, especially as it all started from meeting at one of Marketing Derby’s events.”

Colm Daly, manager of Leonardo Hotel Derby, said: “We were delighted to welcome this collaboration and provide our team with an opportunity to take some time out of their busy working day to focus on their wellbeing.

“As a hotel, our people are at the heart of everything we do and creating a positive working environment where our team feel valued, supported and appreciated is incredibly important to us.

“The wellbeing day was a great way to recognise the hard work of our colleagues while giving them the opportunity to relax and recharge.

Colm said the event was a “fantastic” example of the value of the Marketing Derby Bondholder network.

He said: “A connection made at a Bondholder event developed into a meaningful collaboration that directly benefited our team.

“As a business, we are always keen to build relationships with other local organisations and explore opportunities to work together in ways that support our people and the wider Derby business community.

“A huge thank you to Tina for bringing the experience to our hotel and helping us make the day special for the team.

“We look forward to building on these relationships and creating more opportunities to collaborate in the future.”
