Derby Property Summit: Meet panellist Vicky Critchley

As well as keynote speakers, the Derby Property Summit will feature a panel discussion – and among the panellists will be Vicky Critchley chief executive of Bam Boom Cloud.

Earlier this year, Vicky and her husband Brett completed their buy-out of Cooper Parry IT to create Bam Boom Cloud, a global supplier of cloud-based technology solutions to small and mid-sized businesses.

The company then announced it would establish its headquarters right in the heart of Derby city centre, bringing with it around 100 highly skilled IT professionals.

Bam Boom Cloud, which also has operations in the US, Canada, India and Ireland, has chosen a 6,500 sq ft property in the Wardwick.

The move is being made possible thanks to a close collaboration between Derby City Council, Marketing Derby and the building’s owner Staton Young.

According to Vicky, Bam Boom Cloud was attracted to Derby city centre because of the regeneration taking place, not least at the nearby Becketwell development.

Its staff had originally favoured a move to a business park location but the team was excited by the buzz of the city centre, the vision for the new offices and the ability to continue to work flexibly.

She said: “We are excited by Derby’s plans to rejuvenate its city centre, including the Becketwell development, with its performance venue, apartments, hotel and public square, close to our new home in the Wardwick.

“It’s an exciting time for us to make the move. We also think we will be good for Derby’s future and for the economy of the city centre.”

Registrations are now open for the Derby Property Summit, which this year will be a hybrid event.

Once again, business journalist Declan Curry will assume hosting duties – and will be joined by speakers, including Derby City Council chief executive Paul Simpson, as well as a representative from St James Securities and Cale Street.

The networking element will take place in the award-winning Market Place Al Fresco Dining Experience, with the conference held in the comfort of the QUAD cinema.

For safety and to facilitate quality networking, numbers will be limited to 120 delegates attending in person, with unlimited numbers online.

Tickets to the live event and face-to-face networking area are limited to event sponsors. To find out more about sponsorship opportunities e-mail Katie Wells at katie.wells@marketingderby.co.uk.
