Nominations have opened for the 2021 DerbyshireLive Business Awards, organised by the Derby Telegraph.

Taking place at Derby Arena on Thursday, 21 October, the black-tie event – supported by BusinessLive and DerbyshireLive, in association with Champions – will celebrate the very best the region’s business community has to offer.

This year’s headline sponsors are Invictus Communications, Futures, Diginius, Derby Arena and Derby College Group.

This year there will be 16 categories, ranging from Start-up of the Year to Business Entrepreneur of the Year, Employer of the Year and the overall Company of the Year.

Category sponsors will help judge the individual awards, which will include site visits as and when conditions permit.

A number of Bondholders are category sponsors. They include: University of Derby, Wheeldon Brothers, HUUB, Smith Partnership, EVAD, Derby City Council, Invictus Communications, Sellick Partnership, Rolls-Royce, RDS Global, ACE Sameday Couriers and Dains Accountants.

Document Network Services is among the event partners, while Marketing Derby will once again be sponsoring the awards night champagne reception.

The clock is now ticking for those businesses looking to get involved, with entries closing on Friday, June 11.

Natalie Fahy, editor of the Derby Telegraph and DerbyshireLive, said: “It’s exciting to get back on track with one of the biggest events in the East Midlands business calendar.

“Everyone will agree it’s been a horrible 18 months and postponing the 2020 awards was just one of the sacrifices the local business community had to make.

“But we are back again this year and feel it’s even more important than ever to recognise the companies and the people within them that have gone above and beyond to look after their workforces and their customers and clients.

“Every business out there has a story to tell and for those looking to the future now is the best time to tell it.

“And the only way we can share that is to get on the awards website and enter.

“The awards night itself is always a great event – and I’m sure it will be doubly enjoyable this year after so many months of lockdown and social distancing.”
