Bondholders dominate Mainframe Awards shortlists

Several Marketing Derby Bondholders have been shortlisted for the annual Mainframe Awards.

Organised by Mainframe, an initiative based at QUAD, the awards highlight and recognise digital and creative businesses across Derby and Derbyshire.

Now, it has revealed the nominees for its 2021 awards – and a number of Bondholders have made the shortlists.

Among the nominees for the Make and Trade Award is one of Marketing Derby’s newest Bondholders.



Sarah Hodgkinson, founder of Crafty You Crafty Me, is a finalist in this category. Sarah was among the highly commended entries in Marketing Derby’s Rising Star competition, which saw her win a year’s free membership.

In the Best Local Network category, Claire Twells, from Smith Partnership, is shortlisted for Derby’s Finest, while Yvonne Gorman, of Essential Print Services, is nominated for Derby Small Businesses United.

A Bondholder with multiple nominations is think3. Gaz Jones, from the digital creative agency is shortlisted for the Emerging Digital/Creative Star (under 25).

Meanwhile, Luke Smith is among the finalists for the Mainframe Unsung Hero Award, alongside Abbie Canning from fellow Bondholder QUAD.

And Lee Marples is shortlisted in the Best Digital/Creative Start Up category.

In the Digital Disruptor category, Bondholders Project D and Derby County Community Trust, line up together.

And in the Best Digital/Creative Upscaler category, Bulkhead Interactive will be fighting it out for top honours.

In the Creativity for Good, Marketing Derby Bondholder and former Rising Star winner Abbi Burns, from Darley Dance Productions, is a finalist, while Dawn Foote, from Katapult, has been shortlisted for the Putting Derby/Derbyshire on the Map Award.



Voting has also now opened for the Digital/Creative Ambassador of the Year Award. Among the nominees is Abbie Canning, from QUAD and Yvonne Gorman, from Essential Print Services.

In a statement, award organisers said: “We were amazed by the number and quality of the entries for the awards.

“It's been a wonderful way to connect with a whole new wave of digital and creative people in our region and we'd like to give a huge thank you to all of you who took the time to enter.

“We'd also like to thank our judges who deliberated long and hard over the staggering number of entries to reach the shortlist.”

The winners will be announced online on Tuesday, 27th April, at 7pm, on YouTube.
