As a registered intermediary for the Government-backed Kickstart employment scheme, Bondholder the East Midlands Chamber is helping businesses access the £2 billion funding pot.

The Kickstart scheme announced by the Government aims to help young people into funded six-month work placements.

Businesses get the opportunity to introduce new roles into their organisation and the scheme will give young people the skills and experience they need at the start of their career.

The Chamber will collate registers of interest and help businesses to make sure they are prepared for their work placement.

A series of information sessions will be running from the 16-18 September for businesses to get more information about the scheme. Delegates will also have the opportunity to ask their questions to experts from the Chamber team.

Scott Knowles, chief executive of East Midlands Chamber, said: “We know that young people have been worst affected by the pandemic, so this fully-funded scheme will help employers with tight cashflow bring them into the workplace and develop new talent for the future.

“Apprenticeships in particular will play a crucial role in equipping young people for the future as they offer long-term training that also encourages businesses to invest their time and money.”
