Cheering on Connect

Bondholder Connect Derby is celebrating with several announcements about its tenants and team.

Over the summer, two new tenants have taken space in Connect's managed workspaces. Locally We Do, an East Midlands assisted living firm, has relocated to Marble Hall, and Althaus, a digital training provider founded earlier this year, has moved into Sadler Bridge Studios.

Connect Derby is also cheering on Louise West, a current tenant based at Friar Gate Studios, for being shortlisted for the Creative Industries Entrepreneur of the Year for the Midlands region at the 2020 Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

Recognised for her work to teach the skill of contemporary lace making using traditional techniques, Louise beat off the challenge of more than 2,600 other entrants to reach the finals for the Midlands region. The winners will be announced at a virtual awards ceremony taking place on the evening of Wed 23 September.


Ann Bhatti

Ann Bhatti, head of Connect Derby, is also celebrating as has recently been shortlisted for the Public & Third Sector Award at the East Midlands Leadership Awards 2020.

She has been recognised for her strong and innovate leadership skills which has helped to establish Connect Derby as Derby’s leading managed workspace provider, creating more than 500 jobs and bringing huge economic benefits to the city. The winners of the 12 categories will be announced at an awards lunch taking place at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham on Thursday 5 November.
