Marketing Derby COVID-19 statement

Share this post:

Here at Marketing Derby, as with all SMEs, we are doing our best to navigate the unprecedented challenges posed by Covid-19.

We will continue to operate over the coming weeks and months but there will be some fundamental changes to our activity.

We are following advice on reducing contact and social distancy whenever possible in order to protect our team, business colleagues, Bondholders and the wider community.

This includes radical changes to our working practices and activities, the most obvious of which is the cancellation of many of our investor and Bondholder events in both Derby and London.

We have adopted a policy of working from home whenever possible though our office remains open, however, the MD team remains contactable via telephone or email.

Our purpose is to promote Derby and Derbyshire in order to attract jobs and investment.

Therefore, we will continue to work in supporting inward investment enquiries, many being long-term in nature in any case.

To balance the loss of events, we will significantly enhance our online activity.

This will include continued eshots and heightened use of our social media platforms – most especially Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn – providing a channel for Bondholder good news as well as signposting support to cope with the impact of Covid-19.

Last week we launched our Financial Times supplement, next week sees the production of our inaugural Innovate magazine.

Marketing Derby faces the same challenge as every business – most especially SMEs – and so we are committed to paying our invoices on the due date and trust this will be reciprocated.

As a place, we pride ourselves on 300 years of innovation, during which there must have been many times of similar existential threat.

We didn't wish for it, but this is our time to remain calm, determined and get through this as a community together (without of course shaking hands…)

Managing Director
