Gordon Ramsay Praises Derby College Students
Students working in Derby College's training kitchen and restaurant received praise from celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay, after serving a three-course dinner to celebrate the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon coming to Derby.
The pre-dinner event was also welcomed Formula 1 driver Jenson Button who, amongst the other 60 guests, was served a menu including french onion soup, baked camembert, duck, chicken and salmon. Puddings included brownies, fruit salad and lemon sorbet.
The triathlon, organised by Bondholder HUUB, followed on Sunday and was a huge success with the event now confirmed by Jenson himself to return to Derby next year.
Button praised Bondholder Derby City Council for its support in closing roads for the event route which comprised of swimming through the lake at Markeaton Park and running and cycling through the city centre.
Athletes were kept fuelled by Bondholder Cathedral Quarter Hotel with high protein and carb afternoon tea including a selection of finger sandwiches, soft boiled hens' eggs filled with lemon and chilli guacamole, mango and coconut flapjack bites and spiced carrot cake.
