After 30 years as Chief Executive at Bondholder company Pennine Healthcare, Liz Fothergill, has stepped down from her role, and has accepted the position as Chairman of the Board.

Liz has played a vital role at Pennine Healthcare, helping it develop from a small business into a substantial company that produces approximately 200,000 products every day, which are exported to over 50 countries worldwide.

Her success was recently noted when she was awarded a CBE in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Liz said: “I am very much aware that it is only because I have had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people in many originations across the East Midlands that my contribution has been recognised.”

Liz is succeeded by Luke Fryer who comes to Pennine from Medline.

She said: “I felt the time was right to appoint a Chief Executive with the skills, experience and energy to take Pennine to the next stage of its development.”

“We have been very lucky to appoint Luke Fryer who fulfils all my criteria and more with a wealth of experience in the medical device industry. I look forward to challenging and supporting him as non-Executive Chairman.”
