“Bates Weston delivers tailored, timely and relevant advice by investing time in our clients and our people. We are delighted to be able to further enhance our tax advisory skills, particularly with the growth driven entrepreneur and owner managed businesses in mind, by welcoming Craig and Richard to our firm.””
— Ian Neal, Senior Partner

Bondholder accountancy firm, Bates Weston has expanded, adding two tax partners to the firm creating Bates Weston Tax Advisory LLP.

Craig Simpson, moves to Bates Weston from RSM UK where he was national head of corporate tax. Richard Coombs was formerly a director of RSM Tenon’s specialist tax planning division. Both join the firm as partners from 1 April 2016. Craig and Richard specialise in providing commercial high quality tax solutions for entrepreneurs and business owners, a key strategic focus for Bates Weston.

Craig Simpson says of his appointment;

“I am looking forward to developing and growing the tax practice. There is a real need for sensible commercial tax planning advice in the entrepreneurial and private business sector. Our aim is to provide a high quality alternative to the national firms, drawing from our collective experience and delivering advice in plain English to help clients manage their tax affairs

Richard Coombs adds;

“In my experience, entrepreneurs and business owners are unique in that their businesses often pervade many aspects of their life, meaning that the advice they need is not always confined solely to their business.  Craig and I understand this having spent over 40 years between us providing advice to businesses and their owners.  In creating an expert team dedicated to giving sound, innovative and commercial tax advice to entrepreneurs and their families, we are very much looking forward to carving out a niche in this specialist area.”
