One of the most prominent cafés in Derby's Cathedral Quarter and indeed, the city, has recently been bought by five Derbyshire entrepreneurs who plan to take the brand forward and expand across the county.

Located opposite Derby Cathedral, delicatessen and Bondholder Jack Rabbits produces inspired dishes using the very best local produce. New owners Suzanne and Ben Edmonds, Jane Hamlett, Nick Taylor and Myles Mellor plan to continue the café's ethos of being a 'place for the people' and founder Amelia Horne has decided to move on to a new adventure.

“We are a small team of like-minded individuals who will be using our combined skills in business, catering and design, together with the foundation built by Amelia and her staff, to create a café that has a warm and welcoming atmosphere”

Expansion projects include rolling out the brand to Ashbourne, Bakewell and beyond and include evening menus with continental flavours, exquisite wines and local beers. The new team also plans to offer a full range of outside catering options for weddings and events and an evening cookery school featuring Blok knives and other talented kinsmen within the industry.
