East Midlands Leads the Way for Business Growth
The East Midlands Chamber of Commerce's latest Quarterly Economic Survey found that Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire outperformed their national counterparts giving increased optimism for the year ahead.

“It is encouraging to see this message borne out in these findings, with the figures in this report exceeding their national equivalents.”
With 48% of respondents reporting their main base is in Derbyshire, it is great news for the county that over half of respondents saw increased sales in the last quarter.

“The fact that we have continued to perform over and above the national average is great progress for the region. The increase in staff numbers and business investment by East Midlands’ businesses are sure to continue throughout 2015 and beyond.”
Another welcome statistic from the report is the strong focus on investment intentions over the next 12 months. 37% of respondents said that they were revising investment in plant, machinery and equipment and 39% revising training budgets upwards.
Business confidence also rose with 67% and 76% expecting higher profit and turnover respectively.
