Derby's Own Jack O'Connell Shortlisted for BAFTA

Hollywood star, Jack O'Connell, is calling the city to get behind him after being shortlisted for a BAFTA.

Jack, from Derby, has earned a BAFTA nomination the EE Rising Star category, for his role in the critically-acclaimed film, Unbroken – directed by Angelina Jolie.

Other nominees Jack is up against include Margot Robbie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley.

Since his acting debut in 2005, Jack has had a varied career which has gone from strength to strength. From his most recent role as Louis Zamperini in Unbroken, Jack also took the leading role in Starred Up and '71 and also played a part in 300: Rise of an Empire.
