Sort Group consists of brands: SortRefer, an online portal for Mortgage Intermediaries and Sort Legal, our CLC Conveyancing firm.

Working across all parts of the property industry, we’re passionate about providing solutions with the best technology and service to match, and we are backed up by a team with years of industry experience.

SortRefer was founded in Derby in 2009 and is a free to use online portal for Mortgage Brokers. Built and designed by a team of ex-brokers, we provide a number of ancillary services such as Conveyancing, Surveys, Wills, Specialist Reports (and many more) for brokers to provide to their clients.

Sort Legal is Sort Group’s inhouse CLC Regulated Conveyancing firm, which was launched in 2017 and provides Conveyancing to SortRefer’s mortgage broker customers through their portal.

Sort Group have been on a growth mission for the last few years and now have branches in South Shields, Gosforth and Cardiff, as well as a Head Office in Derby.

As well as expanding the geographical footprint, we’ve collaborated with MyInfinity Finance Group to provide solutions for the wider industry.

In October 2025, we hosted our first ‘Sort Ball’, providing a relaxed networking environment for conveyancers, solicitors, surveyors and mortgage brokers to enjoy an evening of entertainment, good food and networking. We’re delighted to be hosting another in 2026. For more information, click here.

Sort was set up in 2009 as it was where our directors were from. However, it’s the great central heart of the country, easily accessible. Small enough to be a supportive city, but big enough to provide opportunities and expansion potential.
