SmartParc

An enabler for sustainable, collaborative food production, SmartParc is a new asset class specially designed to meet the needs of the food industry. Our campus-based food park model offers scalable and leasable food grade facilities connected by a sustainable shared energy network.

Our first park, SmartParc SEGRO Derby, is a collection of 2 million sq ft of buildings dedicated to food and drink production and distribution on the former Celanese site in Spondon. Greggs and HelloFresh are our first tenants on the Park.

With 5,000 new jobs in a new sector for the city, SmartParc provides a dynamic environment to challenge outdated food systems whilst reducing emissions, energy use and operating costs for food businesses.

Derby has a rich industrial heritage and is known globally for its engineering capability. We are proud to be building on this heritage by bringing a new sector to the city – food manufacturing. With a broad and supportive network of key stakeholders across the city forming one powerful ‘Team Derby’, the further diversification of the city’s vibrant economy will undoubtedly continue.
